The resilience of citizens always has the concern of Fred Sanders. It was my motivation to become a Civil Engineer in coastal engineering at Delft University of Technology in 1983; and to add my MBA at Erasmus University Rotterdam to create a better world. After 20 years in Real-Estate City development I did my PhD in sustainable urbanisation and resilience in 2014. I travel and visit cities in the world, researching never stops.

Great achievements: Saendelft 5.000 houses, IJburg 15.000 houses with societal facilities developed as a whole. Creating Ice-structures in Finland facilitating Eindhoven University for which he was honoured by Finland in 2016, in the country he loved the most and where his life ended.
Note: Hugo passed away January 2021. His involvement and dedication was great, we will remember him with great respect.
